My Blog on Marketing part 2

My Blog on Marketing
This is a continuation of a previous blog that I did aptly named "My Blog on Marketing".
in that blog I clarified what spamming is and identified it as coming from the old school marketing days of "Its all about the numbers." Then pointed out how building relationships was a better way to build your business today.
I left off with stating that while there is some merit to wanting to build a large customer base or list, there are better ways to do it now.

Marketing with Purpose
Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Betty Ross, The things they did and said were important because they had purpose and integrity. Purpose and Integrity: Vital to building your business: Purpose and integrity in your day to day business activities have become vital to connecting the consumer with the marketer or business. People want to do business with: 1.Companies they can trust, who is willing to be open with what they do with their money. I am not referring to intricate details about how the business is run, but rather the kind of charity groups the sponsor and that they are not tied to something that the consumer would not want to be a part of. 2.Which brings me to the most important quality that today's consumers look for: The purpose that drives the company. Consumers, People, like to feel they are a part of something important, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Betty Ross, The things they did and said were important because they had purpose and integrity. The fact that they had integrity and people believed in their purpose made their actions important and people listened and followed them.

Marketing Purpose
Now that I have established why integrity and purpose are important to building your business, I would like to show you one way that companies today are reaching out to their target market and building their customer base using purpose as their way to connect with their customers. Contributing a portion of their earnings to major causes that consumers want to help. Due to the current economic times, people have found that they can't give to the things that they consider important because they need every cent to meet their needs. Tide laundry soap and Amega Global are two companies that are doing just that. Tide has started a mobile laundry service that services areas in our country that are hard hit by natural disasters. They promote this by offering to contribute money from sales of t-shirts to run these mobile laundry centers. Amega Global, a revolutionary health care company, through its Amega Global Foundation, does this by contributing a percentage of what they earn to the cause of helping Japan recover from their recent earthquake disaster among other projects. Now as a small time business owner it is not feasible for you to do what these major companies are doing. But you can connect with others through showing them who you are and what your purpose is for your business. In other words make sure they know you have integrity and they know your "why." Of course you need to know your why before you can tell others, so I suggest that if you don't know why you are in business, what your purpose is, then I suggest you take some time out to think about it and write it down. Mike Hobbs of Marketing Survival Skills says that writing down your "why" is crucial to you having a successful business. Well once again this blog has gotten quite long so I will continue this in another blog. Kathy If you want to know more on how to sponsor one person a day into your business now click here
