Defeat not accepted

Fall seven times, stand up eight. Japanese proverb
I have often said no one can defeat you unless you refuse to get back up again. Today I saw this Japaneses Proverb on Inspiring Quotes collection.info that backed that up so I thought I would share it with you. ALWAYS REMEMBER You are the one in control of You...the opposition can only win if you accept defeat.

I saw this today on my Facebook home page and just had to share it! The message is timeless and can be applied in many areas of our lives.
"Rejection is just a nudge in the right direction! Sometimes you gotta move ON to move UP..."

Family (F)ather (A)nd (M)other (I) (L)ove (Y)ou

F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my reply.

He said, 'Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you.'

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said.

'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'

I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway.'

I said, 'Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in
a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?
So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

Got Sugar?

10/28/2010

Sugar is such an amazing substance...it can make anything taste good as I found out when a friend of mine made "greens" for dinner one night...this was a dish I usually avoided like the plaque because of its bitter after taste...but to my amazement they were so good I went back for more! She had added sugar to them and boy what a difference it made.
In a lot of ways adding some sweetness to your life is a lot like adding sugar...being sweet can make even the toughest person a little softer and nicer to be around.

Amazing how everything gets better with a little sweetener added...whose life had you added sugar to today?

80% how I react to it

10/27/2010

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.”

Everything I need to know about life...

10/24/2010

Today's Bible  Lesson
Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark .

One: Don't miss the boat.
Two
: Remember that we are all in the same boat.
Three
:  Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
Four
: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
Five
: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
Six
: Build your future on high ground.
Seven
: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
Eight
: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
Nine
: When you're stressed, float a while.
Ten
: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
Eleven
: No  matter the storm, when you are with God, there's  always a rainbow waiting.

NOW, wasn't  that nice? Pass it along and make someone else smile, too.

HELPING OTHERS VERSUS LOOKING OUT FOR NUMBER ONE

10/18/2010

I have seen many businesses come and many go in my day.  Some Land, or Brick and Mortar as some call them, and online. One thing I have learned by watching them is that the ones that take the time to help others usually exceed the goals they set for the company. Not just helping someone that will help them, but helping anyone to succeed, regardless of the benefit to themselves. In today's society the  "dog eat dog" or "looking out for number one" mentality has run amok. Many who think that way fail to see that the very thing they strive to protect or achieve is being destroyed by this method of thinking. If you want to succeed in business or life for that matter you must be willing to give without expecting in return. All of your successful relationships are going to be based on and started by your willingness to give more than you take. When you care for your newborn baby, you don't say "I am doing this so you will do it when I grow old." NO you do it with love and you do it just because he/she is your child. So invest in your life today, reach out and give something: a hug, a smile, a helping hand to someone you come in contact with. You never know when that person may be the very one you need in your life somewhere down the rode. And if you never see them again, at least you can feel good about yourself knowing you made this world a better place for someone else.
