Quote of the day: Be Happy...

Be Happy, from Summer Beach Mom Posted on Saturday, November 13, 2010 by Socialroads.com

"Failure is a trickster with a keen sense of irony and cunning. It takes great delight in tripping one when success is almost within reach."

Everyone deserves to be happy, including you! A little bit of suffering and sacrifice now, will be worth it in the long run. Never quit on yourself and dreams, before you know what hits you, you'll be successful.

Never quit so you can prove to yourself, friends, family, and the world that its possible! So many people lack faith in themselves, give them a reason to believe that their capable of achieving their dreams.

I found this post on the Positive Thinking Community Blog: quotes site and really thought it was worth sharing....the link to the site is up at the top. I take no credit for it.

Now I have an excuse even though:

Now I have an excuse even though: Physical exercise is good for health.

I know that I should do it daily, but my body doesn’t want me to do too much, So I have worked out this program of strenuous activities that do not require physical exercise. You are invited to use my program without charge.

Here are the things I have become good at:

* Beating around the bush*

*Jumping to conclusions*

*Climbing the walls*

*Swallowing my pride*

*Passing the buck*

*Throwing my weight around*

*Dragging my heels*

*Pushing my luck*

*Making Mountains out of molehills*

*Hitting the nail on the head*

*Wading through paperwork*

*Bending over backwards*

*Jumping on the bandwagon*

*Balancing the books*

*Running around in circles*

*Eating crow*

*Tooting my own horn*

*Climbing the ladder of success*

*Pulling out the stops*

*Adding fuel to the fire*

*Opening a can of worms*

*Putting my foot in my mouth*

*Starting the ball rolling*

*Going over the edge.*

This was sent to me via email I don't know who wrote it but it is well worth the Read and a good laugh

Pregnant Turkey

One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my
Sister's' house for the traditional feast. Knowing
How gullible my sister is, my mom decided to
Play a trick. She told my sister that she needed
Something from the store.
When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of
The oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen,
And inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the
Turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven.
When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the
Turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the
Stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something,
She reached in and pulled out the little bird.
With a look of total shock on her face, my mother
Exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant
Bird!" At the reality of this horrifying news,
My sister started to cry.
It took the family two hours to convince her that
Turkeys lay eggs!

The Little Lessons Learned are sometimes the Best

11/11/2010

We all go through challenges in life. How we react to them or rather what we learn from them is the key to moving ahead. The lessons don't always have to be "serious" or "important" sometimes its the little things that teach us the most about ourselves and add a little humor to our lives.

For instance: I recently went through some financial challenges that taught me a lot about myself through the food I eat. One thing I learned is that you can make almost anything taste good if you put enough ketchup, mayonnaise or barbecue sauce on it! :-D

I generally consider myself an open person, willing to try new things or at least discuss them. This was not so with my opinion on food. In fact my Mother's comments about me being a "grocery store junky"  when it comes to meat, were only partly right.

Thanks to the generous kindness of others, my eyes have been 'Opened" and I "See the Light."

I can now make a pot of beans that will make your mouth water, using a wonderful Irish recipe a friend shared with me. My experience with Chick peas was a disaster, as was my attempt at Lamb, I think the dogs will be happy if these were never repeated. LOL...Veal was tolerable, but I won't buy it and I found that yes, even I, can prepare a vegetarian meal that is both tasty and filling.

I still have to wonder what Cannellini w/white kidney beans are and apparently so does everyone else, as no one I asked had ever heard of them. I still detest Cat Fish, probably always will, and I have a package of frozen Salmon I have been staring down for days...I'll let you know who wins, me or the Salmon.

So what life lessons did I receive from these observations? Hmm...Seek out new things and don't be afraid that it might not work out. If it works, great! If it doesn't that's okay too, at least now you know and might have a few laughs about it too.

Not every strange meat tastes like chicken and that's good because that's what makes life interesting. Just because something  is strange doesn't mean you shouldn't try it, not every adventure will be a success, but that's makes life interesting and you will appreciate things more.

Just because I didn't like mustard or greens yesterday doesn't mean I can't find a good use for them today.
Change up your routine every so often and try new things. You just might be surprised and find something new that benefits you...hmmm...maybe even change your life.

Oh by the way...anyone know what to do with canned watercrest?

Steps for Getting From A to Z

11/3/2010

"The reason I am where I am now and how I not only survived the tough times but grew and flourished is simply that I kept putting one foot in front of the other. There were times when I didn't think I could take it anymore and there were times I didn't know where to turn or what to do, but there is always a "next logical step" towards where you want to go. Most people aren't going to go from A to Z in one step. But if you are always on the lookout for the next logical step to get you there, you will arrive much fasted than the person who spends all of their time looking for the magic pill to get them there without taking the actual steps."

Yippee! the unofficial report from school: I passed both classes with 98.50% or above...in old school terms A+ in both! I love Communications! :D

My teacher graded everything quick, the school has yet to release the official statement because classes don't even end till tonight.

Without inspiration the best powers of the mind remain dormant. There is a fuel in us which needs to be ignited with sparks.
