I do not speak publicly much on things related to politics but this is something that I feel I must state LOUDLY so that anyone listening will hear:
Some one asked me recently what my thoughts were about burning the Koran.
I think the answer to that question is best answered by a question:
If Someone said they were going to burn bibles as a public way of objecting to something would you take it as a warning and go running away or as a symbol to seek to change?
I think not! I would have the opposite reaction, why then must we insist that others behave differently.
I do not think it is a good idea, it is a bad example for others and only serves to promote negative thoughts of us and lower ourselves to the level of those that use violence to promote their cause.
Jesus did not use violence to object to those of other faith, He used words. In fact the only time where violence was demonstrated was when the money changers were violating the temple of God with the selling practices. Let us be an example of Jesus, not an example of hatred.
