Chapter #1: I Walk Down The Street

Picture
I used to have the following "book" tacked on my wall where I could see it day and night. I got it when I was in a Woman's Abuse Shelter a long time ago. Over the last few years of moving around I lost it. Tonight someone posted it on Facebook and I just had to grab it and share it here..perhaps I will print it and put it back on my wall.
It is important to me because I used to have a problem with always finding men that were not a right fit for me. I saw my life in these chapters and found I got stuck in chapters 3 and 4 for the longest time. But I finally found Chapter 5 and I am still reading it!

I trust God will use it to help others find their own Chapter 5 too

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost ... I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter 2

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter 3

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in ... it's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter 4

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter 5

I walk down another street.

When I say, "I am a Christian" (Author Unknown)

_When I say, “I am a Christian"
Picture
_Reposting from my son, Jacob Cooley who got it from a friend. It is not my work but I had to share because it is how I feel. Thank you to whomever wrote it and if that is you let me know and I will add your name to the post.

When I say, “I am a Christian" I’m not shouting, “I’ve been saved ” I’m whispering, “I get lost! That’s why I chose this way”

When I say, “I am a Christian” I don’t speak with human pride I’m confessing that I stumble - needing God to be my guide

When I say, “I am a Christian” I’m not trying to be strong I’m professing that I’m weak and pray for strength to carry on

When I say, “I am a Christian” I’m not bragging of success I’m admitting that I’ve failed and cannot ever pay the debt

When I say, “I am a Christian” I don’t think I know it all I submit to my confusion asking humbly to be taught

When I say, “I am a Christian” I’m not claiming to be perfect My flaws are far too visible but God believes I’m worth it

When I say, “I am a Christian” I still feel the sting of pain I have my share of heartache which is why I seek His name

When I say, "I am a Christian" I'm not Holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner who receives God's simple Grace.

Thank you Jesus for all you have done and will do for each of us. I love you

RAW Live: Hanging Out with Tristan Jud in Review week 2

_RAW Live: Hanging Out with Tristan Jud in Review week 2
Picture
Last week's Raw Live Hang Out was a very educational and intriguing for me. I was totally shocked by Tristan showing us the different things one can do with steel wool and a little flame while snapping a photo. I still want to know who it was that first decided to set steel wool on fire and take a photo of it? LOL

Tristan spent time showing us the various things he carried with him and what you could do with each item. Later he reviewed different cameras with Tiffany as she was interested in buying a new one and asked for his thoughts.Of course there was the usual banter and chatter and that is always on the lighter side.

I am truly a beginner when it comes to photography and honestly, I don't understand all the terms yet, but I have come away from these hang outs with a little more knowledge  every time I attend the RAW Live Hang Out with Tristan.

Picture
This week Tristan wanted to do something a little different. He would like to ask you for some input on what you would like to discuss. So I am including a brief survey here: Of course you can't answer in the blog itself, I am not that technically inclined, But you can reply to this message with your responses or leave a comment in either the Facebook groupor use the contact form on Tristan's blog
1. What is a good day for you to attend a live hangout? (keep in mind that 8pm- 9pm EST is the truly the best time frame due to time zone differences, What Tristan wants to know is if Sunday is a good day for everyone.
2. What type of things would you want to see discussed in the RAW Live Hang Out with Tristan Jud broadcasts?

3. Finally Tristan would love to have featured photographers in the broadcasts. Would there be any other photographers interested in being featured?

One final note: If you are interested in being featured, have a particular photo you would like to share or ask questions about, please leave a message on thecontact form for the blog,Be best if you can do this by Saturday so he has time to prepare.

I haven't featured one of Tristan's videos in awhile so this week I thought it would be a good idea to feature one of the photo shoots he did with the Model Elise Natalie. Oh here's that link for the live broadcast "RAW Live: Hang Out with Tristan Jud" just in case you missed it the first time. Remember that is at 8pm EST on Sunday or 9am Perth Australia time on Monday Morning.

Bad Day? Change your focus, Change your day

_Bad Day? Change your focus, Change your day
Picture
So your having a bad day...It doesn't have to stay that way you know.
You may not be able to change how your day started. Difficult things and challenges are a part of everyone's life. BUT you don't have to allow them to ruin your whole day. You can and should Change your focus, Change your day.

Over the years I have found some techniques that help me to refocus and change the outcome of my day and I would like to share some of those things with you here.

Change Your Focus Change Your Day Tip #1

"Its not about the good or the bad, Its about where your focus is...Where's yours?" Kat Cooley

One of the most important revelations I had in life was when I realized that positive people had the same problems in life that I had, they just didn't let it consume them. In fact they deal with them then switch their focus to something better.

Picture
_Change Your Focus Change Your Day Tip #2

This is perhaps a critical part in changing your focus. Because your thoughts decide what you focus on. If you are always looking at the negative, then you will not see the positive things that are happening around you. I like to think of it like this: If all you see when it rains is the mud on your shoes and your wet hair, then you will miss the beautiful flowers that it brings.

Picture
_Change Your Focus Change Your Day Tip #3

There are at least two ways to view every situation. How you interpret what is happening IS the key to the outcome. I recently found myself, rather suddenly,  in a hospital, two hours from anyone I know. I couldn't talk much on the phone because is left me winded and wheezing and at the gas prices of today, expecting others to travel to where I was to see me would have been unrealistic and unnecessary. Most of my morning had pretty much tried to make me feel like Murphy's law was in effect full force. If it could go wrong it did.

The Negative way
Now I had two choices at this point...whine and cry at the troubles, dwell on the negative and have a big ole pity party. (no one would have blamed me either) OR

The Positive way

I could cease the moment and focus on ways to use the situation in a positive manner. I chose the latter and I was certainly not disappointed.

Over the next few days, I gave my business information to two different people on the medical staff, shared some positive thoughts about God with two respiratory therapists, hooked up a customer service clerk from the medical equipment I received, with some information on becoming a virtual assistant, provided the lab/respiratory student nurses,  the opportunity to use me as a pin cushion and learn what it was like to have a "hard stick" patient...ok, being stuck over and over because they can't get the veins (on several occasions)  is one I could have done without ..., but the positive side is I helped them learn something, they may not have seen, so next time the patient may not have to suffer as much. And repeatedly challenged all staff to test their skills to "find my pulse" even the doctor had a hard time...LOL! No I wasn't dying...it is just hard to find it in my wrist.
Change your Focus, Change your day...

Picture
_Change Your Focus Change Your Day Tip #4
The 5 things I am thankful for rule:
When you are struggling to be positive or your day is just going all wrong...the best thing you can do is start thinking of what you are thankful for.  And not just anything, but things that relate to your current negative situation. For instance: A driver cut you off: I am thankful I was smart enough to see that...or I am thankful God showed me that in time for me to respond.

Of course you can be funny, serious or creative...the point isn't so much what you are thankful for but rather where your focus is. A great example of this was something that my daughter said in response to the 5 things rule once. She had been going on and on about hating Mondays and I challenged her to come up with 5 good things about Mondays...First on her list: "Its 6 days till its Monday again."

All to often we fail to realize that our thoughts, our focus, directs what comes our way. Not because it "draws" it to us, but rather because we have our eyes open..ready and waiting... for what we are focusing on. I like to sum up what Noah St. John wrote to wrap the explanation up nicely in his book "The Secret Code to Success" People that look at a situation and immediately asks "what can go wrong" Often miss out on Golden Opportunities because of their focus on the fear or worse case scenario.

A successful person on the other hand says "what can I do with this?" and "How can it benefit me or others?" This person is more apt to take chances on the opportunities that come up and even though they may fail, they will always win because they never give up.

Food for thought: Where do you think we would be today if Martin Luther King Jr had said: "If I stand up for what I believe in they may hurt me" instead of "I have a dream..."

So the next time you have a bad day, Change your focus and Change your day.

Stop the Chaos of Migraines in Your Life

2/3/2012

Stop the Chaos of Migraines!
Picture
That's right! You read that correctly I have had zero migraines in over a year. Up till 2010 I suffered through  migraines almost daily unable to find a way to Stop the Chaos.
They were debilitating kind that forced me into bed, hiding under covers, wearing sunglasses, in the dark to block the light. I was definitely no stranger to the Emergency Room either.

I had many occasions where the pain was so intense my friends would look in my eyes and be afraid for me or it lasted so long that an ER trip for IV drugs (to the tune of $700- $1,000 each time) was the only way to bring relief. But that all changed last October 2010.

How Did I Stop the Chaos?
I was introduced to a company with Revolutionary Technology called Amized Fusion Technology(tm) and my life has never been the same since!

Its important to back track here a bit:
I had been taking ibuprofen (4 or more) every night since at least 2002 just so I could sleep (something was always hurting) and since 2009 I had been on some form or another of stronger NSAIDS in an attempt to kill the pain in my leg and low back caused by an injury I had sustained in 2008 and re-injured in Jan. 2009. (these previous facts are important because its possible that some of the headaches were rebound from the drugs) However, I had been suffering through some pretty nasty, sudden onset migraines since before 2004.

Picture
Thanks to Amega Global's Amized Fusion Technology (tm) I found the way to Stop The Chaos that constant pain causes in one's life and I have been Totally Free of migraines Since! And the best part is I didn't have to use drugs or nasty tasting concoctions to do it. I have zero migraines, when I (rarely) get a mild headache I just use the Amega Global products and the pain is gone, often in less than 10 minutes. Now I don't know about you, but it takes longer than 10 minutes for me to grab a bottle of pills, take them then wait for them to work. Oh and the pain I had in my leg and back...I don't need to take daily pain meds for that anymore either!

Picture
_I know by now you are wondering just what are these products, where do I get them and what's the cost to me? I'm not going to tell you here. I prefer to chat with people either via phone or through chat so I can answer questions and explain things. Okay ,Okay I won't tell you here but you can click any of the photos and they will take you to more information. But I would still like to chat with you as there is much more to my testimony than what I am putting here and I can help you decide if Amized Fusion Technology and Amega Global will help you STOP THE CHAOS in your life too.

An AHA Moment in Life

1/5/2012

_An AHA Moment in life
Picture
_Standing outside my vehicle this morning covered in snow snow, that was not supposed to be there according to every weather service I might add, I had a sudden funny AHA moment. You know, the kind where all the things fighting for your attention over a set period of time finally set in, adding up to the clearest AHA Moment you have had in awhile?  Yea that’s right, that moment where life “Gibbs” smacks you on the back of the head and says “Hey you! Wake up!”  That is the kind of thing that happened to me today.

My AHA Moment

Picture
_ My AHA Moment came when I casually reached inside my blazer, popped the keys in the ignition and without giving it a second thought, decided to turn on the wipers to see if that was “just snow” that could be wiped off with the wipers or if it was ice and I would have to spend 10 minutes scraping it. Yeah, I know some of you are already laughing at me. And you should be, it was snow and my beloved blazer promptly and neatly dumped the contents of the window squarely on me, wet hair and all! “I guess it was snow” I chuckled as I brushed the snow off me and into the door pocket, clearly not thinking my actions through again.

Why was it an AHA Moment?

Picture
_  Alright, alright…now that you have had a good chuckle let me explain why it is an AHA Moment, and since I am a marketer online, how does it apply?

Recently I have been sifting through things in my boxes and eliminating or attempting to reduce the clutter. I have also reviewed my expenses versus income for my business. The one thing I kept seeing over and over was the “little things” and the increase they caused in the big picture of my life. Even though I got rid of a lot of little things and reduced the “clutter” in my financial affairs, the impact these things had didn't really sink in till I had my AHA Moment this morning. I bet you think I am going to say how important it is to give thought to what you are doing don’t you?

As true as that fact is, I think I unknowingly like creating little episodes like this morning, its what makes my life interesting, not to mention all the life lessons I get that way. I don’t know why I didn’t see it before but I clearly did this morning.
The thing that stuck out in my mind was just how much the impact of one little thing or just a few bucks could really have on the “big picture”. All those notes from a class or magazines I didn’t even know I had, really took up a lot of space. Likewise all the advertising, list building and “new business” launches that are “$5 dollars here” and “$10 bucks there” or “just the $2 bucks is all you need” really start to add up over time.Let’s stop and think for a moment…5 x 12 months is $60, doesn’t seem like much but up it to $10 x12 and now you are breaking into the three digits. Now if you have 3 programs that are $2, $5, & $10 a month over the course of a year and now you’re talking $204 a year.

The Truth is Many of us have Many "little" Things that cost

Picture
_ Now I know everyone needs advertising and we should expect to pay something for the good ones. BUT if that $5.00 isn’t reproducing an increase in sales, an affiliate income, or otherwise regularly contributing to the increase in your affairs in a positive way….Well Guess What?
It’s time for your AHA Moment!
Get set to clean house darling, the extra money, time, and energy that you invest into businesses/advertising/list building, home life that don’t pay back regularly or give you something in your life, can be wisely dispersed into other areas that do contribute to achieving your dream lifestyle and that of your family.

Picture
_ I know, I know you think it’s all about the list and how big you can get it, or what if I need that someday….Here is a gentle tap on your skull for you.  A big list is great, BUT IT DOES YOU NO GOOD IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING TURNOVERS INTO YOUR BUSINESS.
So bite that pack rat, run it off and start unloading. I heard a good rule of thumb the other day: Ask yourself what you would take with you if you had an emergency and could only take what you could carry? The answers are what matters to you. (and don’t say your game console, that can be replaced) the same thing can be said of your business matters: If you had to choose between all of the things you have your “hands” in, which ones would you absolutely have to have?  Get rid of the rest and focus on the best!  It will pay off in the end.
